I've stopped trying to figure out this game and just kinda go with it

THIS^^
I learned to play golf at 15. Got to a 10 hdcp in about 2 years. Off the shelf Spaulding golf clubs with persimmon woods, and a sleeve of TopFlite's.
46 years later, I have been fitted for clubs, better tech, better balls, "smarter" ..... and ...... I'm a 9 hdcp. All that for 1 stroke!!!

Convinced that golf balls don't make that big a difference until you have a certain swing speed. I've shot in the 70's with RockFlite's, and in the 70's with TP5s. More often than not, it's not the ball.

God I love this game.

I kind of a late bloomer to the game.. While I've ben around it all my life b/c most of my family played I didn't really pick up the game until my late 20's.. First round I ever played was at Carter Plantation ...Shot an unkind 125.. Yet I kept coming back after that.. I basically used 2 sets of hand me down clubs for the first 10 years or so , then i bought myself a second hand set of PXGs.. Just a few weeks ago I finally got fitted for Iron's.. Goal is to get into the single digit handicap range... Will that happen? Hell I hope so.. If not I'll have a pretty set of new Irons to suck at this game with..

I agree, I'm not good enough to have to have a certain ball.. I can tell you I don't like the feel I get from the cheap ones.. But I honestly don't hit them any different.. Hell this past weekend I played The Island and found and old Nike ball.. I decided what the hell I'll play it, It looked brand new so why not.. I put my Mizuno back in my pocket and continued on b/c I knew several water hazards were ahead of me.. Had I been playing a ProV or My current Mizuno... One of them would have found the water without a doubt... Nope, not the rock hard Nike though... Played the rest of the round until I attempted to kill it on 18 and it finally sailed off into a watery grave.. But that was more my fault that the ball.. My power fade reared it's ugly head..
