I have with a 12ga. Mentally, I was more aware of the two shells and made better shots. Also mentally, 3" mags gave me a headache after a few flocks.

Recoil is a real issue w a 12ga OU, i love upland hunting w an OU and 2 3/4" shells. Using 12 ga steel 3" loads 1500fps w an OU is no fun.
