I thought the LSU offense is the Denbrock offense with a Brian Kelly emphasis on TE usage?

Look at what UGA, The Chiefs in the NFL, and a number of NFL teams do with the TE. The usage of 1, 2 or 3 TE’s in a formation, keeps the defense from substituting players. From those sets, you can run or pass creating mismatches. In the time Kelly was at ND he had 8 TE’s drafted, that same timeframe, LSU had one Foster Moreau. Up till last year, 2019 was the only other time a TE was truly used within the offense. If you follow Denbrocks offense, you can see in passing plays, man coverage on the TE is often a mismatch. We took a three star TE, and made him what Kelly wants. The 5 star that went to aTm had like 3 catches for 11 yards.

Kelly brought in a coach Terry Malone.
Originally going to the New England Patriots, Malone was hired away by Sean Payton, and became a part of his coaching staff in 2006 and helped the Saints capture their lone Super Bowl title in 2009.
