I'll be honest, I have no idea what Beth has put together for this year. We're ranked preseason, so hopefully it's good.

BATON ROUGE, La. – No. 20/25 LSU opens its 2023 campaign by hosting the annual LSU Invitational Feb. 10-12 at Tiger Park.

Head coach Beth Torina (12th season) returns 13 student-athletes including seven starters from last year’s roster. Key returners consist of a group of five student-athletes who were honored to the NFCA All-Region and All-SEC teams last year, including outfielder Ciara Briggs, pitcher Ali Kilponen and infielder Taylor Pleasants who were all named to the 2023 Preseason All-SEC team. The other top returners are infielders Georgia Clark and Danieca Coffey.

Thanks lsuman for the thread. I was traveling from Amarillo area to Brownwood this evening (funeral for long time softball coaches & great friends in both locations) so I wasn't able to watch or listen. Reading the play by play and commentary was so helpful to get a good review of the game. Thanks again so much

Nice start to the season. I enjoyed watching the game on SECN+ without certain parties in the seats behind the plate.

The transfers and Bergeron look like they may deliver some needed pop to the lineup. Let’s hope they avoid getting Dobson-ized. As others have said, the key to an overdue return to OKC is pitching after Kilponen.

I personally think this is a make or break year for Torina and her staff. But who knows? Scott Woodward may be okay with a top-twenty-five-ish team that never makes OKC. He’s the guy running things.

But with Oklahoma and Texas coming aboard next season, things will not get any easier if this program cannot take the next step forward.
