re: Privacy trees

I planted a line of Nellie Steven’s Hollie’s in 2013-14 on about 10-15 ft spacing. Some are over 20 feet high now and have grown together like a straight hedge. You can’t see through them. I have had several get some disease where the leaves get brown and fall off. While new shoots did sprout out, those never fully came back. Couldn’t ever determine what caused it but I replaced them with the largest I could find. They make a nice screen and grew pretty quickly. This was in nw la.
