Looking for proven duck guide services in true timber that you guys recommend. Lodging is a plus but meals not required. It's a group of guys that take a trip every year and looking to try a new guide service. Let me know what ya got!

I honestly don’t know of a guiding service that strictly hunts timber. Interested to see what is suggested. You have to go where the ducks are, and most of the best Timber places I know of are private/public.

Talk to Gordon Bragg at Arkansas County Guide Service. He may can put you in timber or help you out.

Had success on public refuges growing up in WM in the flooded timber.

A strictly timber outfit would be super tough. The conditions have to be perfect for ducks to want to be in a certain spot in timber. Water level, feed, and sun light. To try and a run a timber only operation would be damn near impossible. When the ducks want in the timber it is badass.

There are plenty of guys that run operations in arkansas, tennessee, that have timber spots. They have a lot of "modified timber" duck holes with blinds set up in the woods. But as far as true timber hunts with you and your boys standing in the water amongst the trees, that's gonna be tough.

Slick's in Stuttgart - huge nice lodge. Hunting had been slow for last couple of years. Heard it was back good this year

Lost Island - smashes ducks consistently - huge waiting list - only hunt 3 groups in Dec and 2 in Jan - no lodging

5 oaks in Humphrey Ark - pricey - I think you have to rent out the whole lodge - has more than timber but everyone I've know thats been there has only hunted Timber - seems like they do pretty good killing wise

Gordon Markle with Mallard Crossing Guide Service in Monroe, LA. I hunted the timber with him back in late December right during the thaw after Christmas. It was top notch. Most of his stuff is pits in ag fields but he floods up some timber and when it is on, it is world class. He is on FB. You can see for yourself.

He has a lodge and you are in luck, I don't think he cooks.

I almost suggested them, but I don’t know if it is strictly timber. I know they have moist soil and some ag.
