Two years ago Florida won the NC, and the next year their QB won the Heisman but the teams lost three SEC games and a bowl game against a shitty Michigan team. Look at what UF is doing this year. We're fine.

Note. UF lost 9 starters from their defense after the NC.

We did not.

I could be wrong but I just don't see Lee winning the Heisman this year.

No, we didn't. We just lost both our starting corners, a defensive tackle who was the most decorated LSU football player in school history, and OUR COORDINATOR. Nah, we didn't lose much.

Add starting safety and linebacker to the list.

Did I ever say we didn't lose a good few players?

UF lost a good bit more than we did though, and they didn't have offensive questions that next year. We do.

UF went 8-4 with a Heisman winner at QB who was only a sophmore...they also had Harvin and a VERY young defense.

We are stacked on defense, and have no obvious hope for the future at QB.

I really dont see how you can compare the 07 Gators to our 08 Tigers.

Are you kidding?

Our entire defensive backfield are new starters. Two of our linebackers are new starters.
We have no Glenn Dorsey, although we do have talent on the defensive line........and more talent on the line coming in next season.

We have "no hope" at QB......................?
Aside from Lee, you seem to forget that Jefferson is there and Shepard will be here next season.

Yea..........................all hope is lost. We might as well get ready for a re-run of the Hallman years.

UF had these same issues, but they had a proven QB who won the Heisman that next year.

Also note that Florida's losses in 2007 were very close games were the ball didn't bounce the Gator's way late in the game - with the exception of the UGA game which was somewhat fluky in its own right.

LSU's losses this year should be a little more worrisome.

I would also guess that Florida is an exception. When teams fall off the perch (see Nebraska, Miami, FSU, etc...) they tend to have trouble climbing back. Not saying a Florida-like turnaround isn't possible for LSU, just that I don't see a lot of reasons for any confidence that will happen.

I would want much more than one year at 9-3 to even begin comparing us to these situations.

Exactly.

We also lost a senior QB that won MVP of the championship game our best WR from last year, and a safety that was one of the best in the country.

We also lost our 1st and 2nd quarterback. I think that is his point.
