Few notes....

He was deported several times, nice reporting. For what? You damn near have to murder someone to be deported, what the heck was this guy doing,,,several times?

Second, did you see this home, it is in the middle of nowhere, you are 73 home with you wife and no one else in the middle of nowhere and some hombre shows up, you gonna invite him in for coffee?

Third, Im sure there was some dialogue between the two, even if he does not speak english, a man with a gun in his hand, while you are on his property is pretty much the international language of RUUUNNN, seems hombre did not get the drift.

the border area really has turned into a free fire zone as a result of the lack of control by the federal government. Put a 73 year old in the middle of that , with strangers crossing by his house in the middle of a remote ranch and sooner or later he will perceive a threat greater than he can control.

In the 1991 period, I was deer hunting on a ranch south of cotulla, texas when a group of 4 illegals come over the hill , one carrying a rabbit and one with a revolver. My response was to get out of the blind with rifle in clear site and stand behind a mesquite while they passed. 3 possibilities were likely before I exited
1. they would just walk on by
2. they would shoot at a presumed unoccupied blind
3. they would shoot at a presumed occupied blind

Was I threatened or threatening

The old guy in Arizona has to deal with that 7 days a week, every day of the year.
