Honestly that’s not police officers jobs either. It’s their job to enforce the laws of the land. If the husband was was being violent then yeah the cops should be there. If he was just coming home drunk then shame on the wife for involving the police.

After investigating the circumstances and looking at the body cam, this officer should not have been charged with anything.
Deciding to press charges is only rewarding bad behavior and is ruining the life of an officer who was just doing his job. The family and lawyers are only trying to cash in on a lawsuit.
The left wing loves to see officers charged right or wrong to further their agenda to tie the hands of the cops and discourage the recruitment of new officers.
