Missouri didn’t have potential sanctions hanging over them. That makes getting players you want harder. A few players that can execute what you’re trying to do can make all the difference, if if they are from Cleveland St. Next season will be telling. It’s players and coaching this year. We’ll see what CMM does to improve.

Memphis had potential sanctions over them. They signed the #1 recruiting class.

Arizona had sanctions hanging over them. They signed a top 10 class.

Hell, from a ranking’s perspective LSU signed a pretty good class coming into this season.

McMahon has just done a really bad job. It is what it is. It doesn’t mean he can’t improve (though there is very little to suggest that will happen). The “leave Matt alone” poster are comprised of 90% of people who are only college basketball fans for approximately 2 months out of the year and don’t really understand the landscape of the sport.

How does the possibility of sanctions affect a Jr or Sr player?
What about players who just want to be a part of a competitive SEC team. They have no expectations of getting to a tournament.
John Brady built a team with the threat of sanctions. "Draconian Sanctions"

Except that by all indications before the year started - we did better than Mizzou in "getting players".

Maybe their staff did a better job evaluating? Or developing? Or managing?

Or maybe the ratings of the players each team attained was seriously flawed - by pretty much everyone....and yes that is possible.

Who would have thought Cleveland State transfers are better than Murray State transfers, including the conference POY from a 31-2 team? I sure would not have but it could be the case?
