Between Houston, Lake Charles, Lafayette, Baton Rouge and the surrounds the best product gets bought up before it can get to NOLA. The sellers and drivers have no need to add an extra 4+ hours to their route. Wastes time , gas and money when they can easily sellout faster in less time going back and forth from the source.
Crawfish in NOLA area are always a little smaller and dirtier. Think it has to do with brackish water and muddier water in where the crawfish are caught.
Keep telling yourself NOLA’s crawdads are the best though.
