Looking for a relaxing trip for 4-5 days and started with Ecuador, but for many reasons need this trip to be closer to home. Now eying San Miguel. Anyone been and willing to share their experience?

Appreciate it. I know better, I don’t know why I didn’t do a search first. Shame on me.

I was the OP in that thread. Ended up having a great trip! I did have two Tagalongs so we went the airbnb route. The home was a beautiful colonial in a wonderful area. The only complaint about the home was the cobblestone streets make quite a bit of noise and cars going by were noisy. Especially for the bottom floor. I brought a sound machine and slept fine though. The locals were so kind! Transport was easy and cheap. Meals were very reasonable too. 5 days is perfect IMO. We went outside the town to horseback ride and it was beautiful and so much fun. The horses were amazing with beautiful views and the guides were so very hospitable. I will definitely visit again either alone or with the family.
