Its not about a name on a court.
That's exactly what all of this is about. If Gunter's name weren't about to be added to the basketball court then no Brando, Vitale, etc... would not be talking about politics and LSU basketball at the same time.

What if Werner wanted to name Tiger Stadium after Charlie McClendon? The problem with your analogy is that Gunter is as qualified as Brown. There is no reality in which naming a court after Gunter equates to naming Tiger Stadium after George Floyd. If you're truly worried about politics and not whether Brown's name is on the court then you've picked a weak example to plant your flag on.

If Brown is so insulted that LSU would have him share the naming of LSU's court with Gunter then perhaps he should ask the school to remove his name.

So stupid. It is not about who is qualified. It is about the fact that it was voted down and still being pushed through by someone who wants it. If the board thought Gunter was deserving they would have voted it through. The George Floyd example is extreme but it basically means ones persons agenda can supercede the voting process and be pushed through.

This will probably happen and will be an extreme embarrassment to LSU and will be all over every sports publication everywhere. Unnecessarily. Dale will be interviewed evrywhere to combat the fact that he is made out to be sexist and Mary Werner will be in the media hailed as a Democrat party hero, which is I am sure her goal ultimately. The whole thing will be another LSU black eye.
