So "grift" to you is anytime a candidate doesn't do something they campaigned on. In that case, every politician is a grifter. I've been around long enough to know none have ever done all they've said they would. I don't even expect it.

No. A political grifter is a candidate who runs as one thing, then governs as something completely different. A confidence man dealing in votes, rather than money. Trump voters were grifted, and there's no way around that.
