That was a trademark of Wade's teams. They never gave up. I can't recall how many times they would get down 10-15+ points and always pull back at the end to make it a game - usually pulling it out. You can always question why they got down in the first place as you stated which happened far too often, but his teams had 0 quit in them regardless of the situation.

Yep. Because they were often so good offensively they were rarely out of a game. Of course, the flipside was they were often so poor defensively they would allow teams to hang around or make runs to make what should have been blowouts tight games. But more times than not, if LSU was down big they would ratchet up the defensive pressure to speed up the pace and get back into the game.

That has been one of the more frustrating things to watch this season. If (more often, when) LSU gets down big they don't extend their defense or try to speed the pace up to create more possessions. Instead, they just continue to play the same game and allow the opponent to steadily increase (or at least maintain) their big lead until the game is finally over.

Agreed 100%. I feel it is like it is continuing to fit a square peg in a round hole this year, particularly on offense. Teams have figured us out after the 1st SEC game. We have seen some changes in defenses from man to zone, with some success at times, but nothing to speed up the pace of the game with a half or full court pressure. At some point, lack of possessions become an issue late in games when you are down as the Tigers have been this year. You need to create possessions, particularly since our offense efficiency has been so poor.

When they ramped up the intensity on defense, were often relentless pressing and trapping to create turnovers. It was fun to watch when Wade flipped that switch.
