The ratings went up for episode three because the first two episodes were good.

Episode four will have fewer viewers because episode three was an hour of gay propaganda.

And because people curiosity watch things that get a lot of headlines, no matter what they are.

I didn't play the game and I haven't seen this, but I doubt people were drawn to it because they love gay romances. If that were true, the other recent gay centric movies would have done better.

But it wasn't propaganda as they were together in the game. The knly thing changed was that they didn't hate each other, frank steals shite to leave, and they find he hangs himself

Wait until you learn that HBO’s most watched show aside from Game of Thornes and House of the Dragon is about a black girl and her trans love interest….

Has this been discussed??

Variety

Episode 4 of “The Last of Us” set yet another series high. 7.5 million viewers tuned into Sunday night’s episode, up 17% from the 6.4 million that tuned into Episode 3.

That the show’s audience is still growing at this point is an especially impressive feat, as Episode 4 aired on HBO and released on HBO Max during the telecast of the 65th Grammys, which brought in 12.4 million viewers, its highest audience since 2020. Still, a major contingent of viewers chose to watch “The Last of Us” instead, or chose to stream the new episode after the three-hour-long awards show.
