Equally amusing to witness folks getting bent out of shape over such a silly notion that they are somehow in peril because a biological woman identifies as a male.

They don't "identify" as male. They're PRETENDING that they are male. Normally, I wouldn't care, but people are having their lives ruined and careers ended for not playing along with the mentally ill person's fantasy.

I would posit that relatively few people have seen their lives ruined and careers ended without some actionable offense on their part. I would agree that it does indeed happen and it is disgusting but in general terms the individual pretending to be a male...and I agree that is the case in the preponderance of cases...suffers far more for their issues that have no impact on anyone other than themselves than truly innocent people are impacted without some actionable offense on their part. There are also some people, a very small number I think, who are genuinely "confused" and through no fault of their own other than something in their mental makeup suffer unduly. Again, that number is small but all indications are that they do exist and do suffer.

If a person doesn't want to be "cancelled" the person should practice caution. It used to be generally accepted that religion, sex and politics were not proper topics for discussion in mixed company. Social media has lead people to believe that anyone cares about their thoughts on those subjects and that the right to free speech somehow removes the requirement to speak responsibly. One can say nearly anything one wishes, one has NO right to expect no ramifications from doing so. Folks used to be cancelled completely in this country simply because of the color of their skin. It was common. Arguably still is but that is a debate for another day. Folks who say or do something that is done by choice and then taken to task for doing it have chosen to place themselves at risk...if they were ignorant of reality that is on them, not us.
