Deadcember had the best guide to set your TM. IIRC, He said to do sets of 3 until you couldn't hit 3 reps. Mine ended up being spot on.

One of the guys who spotted me for bench said the same thing. "Don't count it unless you get 3 reps"

Do you recall what % of current max he started with?

I think he in both the Squatober and Deadcemeber programs they recommend to start with 90% of your 1 rep max.

But the Deadcemebr definitely stated on the first day to start with sets of 3 until you couldn't get 3 and that what was the max you worked with. He did have little things through both months that if you hit certain reps then you coudl increase it by 5-10%.

Tested maxes today instead of running Oak Tree. 3 months into lifting and I'm happy with the numbers. This was definitely not optimal testing since I did all 3 in one session and went heavy on deads yesterday.

Squat: 2@255
Bench: 2@205
--(Didn't push a 3rd rep since I didn't have a spotter)
Deadlift: 1@305

Maxes pre-JUJ. These were spread out over 2 days and I had a spotter.
1@255
2@205
1@265

strengthlevel.com has these at 262.3/210.9/312.4 (based on 3@295 deadlifts)
