Many yrs ago back in the 80's I lived in rural Arkansas where the large rice and cotton farmers were land millionaires. There was very little divorce there in this group because families were not splitting the land up. I saw a couple different families that just decided to do their separate thing while still remaining married. A guy I worked with told me a story about going to meet a young girl's parents and he met the mom and she said "if you wait a little bit your daddy and his girlfriend will be here..."
