My elementary aged kids are pretty well spent after a regular day. Factor in extracurricular activities and both parents working. It's a struggle getting studying, reading time and homework done in a 5 day week. Not sure where that time comes from if you tack on 2 more hours of class time.

I will never understand why some elementary schools give kids nightly homework. You send your kid to school to learn, not be taught at home.
