'Trek' makes it sound like an absolute chore
It's really not that bad - M train takes you straight from Midtown, West Village, etc.

Chore, no, but again, if you're staying in Midtown, there are just as good/better steak places within a five or 10 minute walk, depending on where you're staying. M Train from Midtown to Williamsburg is probably closer to 30 mins, give or take.
Again, Luger's is a fine place, I just don't get the hype.
