I wonder if any of this has to do with the fallout, whether he knew previously or something.
Also, I never understood why we have a GM and a sporting director. It's a national team, it not like he was out negotiating transfers or managing a practice facility.

Still not fully sure what the difference was between Ernie and McBride's jobs. Like Ernie was the GM – a position that was created – and then he gets promoted to another new position to make way for McBride.
It was all so weird.
