His assistants fell on the sword. Chuck Person and and Merl Code. Ok and those wire taps are not what Wade’s in trouble for. The judge threw them out in the court case involving Dawkins. Wade got caught being extorted by some ex players girlfriend. That’s kind of a broad brush but just saying the Dawkins thing is being conflated with what’s really happening.

I get that, but everyone knew about those taps and what was said and that got the NCAA digging for more. That is all it takes.
It’s like what happened to Freeze at Ole Miss before the whole escort debacle. He kept talking shite to the NCAA (admittedly worse than any public denials from Wade) about how they hadn’t done anything wrong and once there was more blood in the water, the NCAA went in hard looking for anything else they could find. That’s what they do.
The paper trail was death and he left it and didn’t even make it hard to find.
