Questions about Buying/Registering Boat In LA

I’m about to buy a boat from a private party in AL that I would like to register in LA.
According to LADWF’s website I should need a bill of sale. Im assuming that’s an AL bill of sale? Do I need one for boat/motor and one for the trailer since it’s registered with DMV?
I know these seem like basic common-sense questions but from past experiences I know LADWLF doesn’t adhere to common sense…

I just went through this process. I used the bill of sale document on their website for me and the other party to fill out. Got it notarized. Sent that in with registration form with a check for fee (about 40) through certified mail and received new registration stuff in the mail about a week later. Was super easy
There is a separate spot on the form for boat and motor. I think trailer goes through DMV. I am about to get that done this week.
This was with a private seller in La though so not entirely sure how it works for out of state but hope it helps some

Do a separate bill of sale for boat motor and trailer or break out the cost of each on a single bill of sale.
If you do not realized it, used trailers hold almost no value

We used the Bill of sale from the LDWF website. It has both the motor and hull on the sheet so we filled both out and had both notarized. The guy also gave me his LDWF registration card to bring with me just to help speed things along at the LDWF.
This and the SIGNED title for the trailer should be about all you'd need to get everything straight. Make sure everything is signed/notarized properly or else it's gonna take weeks of mailing stuff back and forth to the seller to get everything done.
