Looking to book a house for this summer. Any recs? Is the water blue/ green, or a little brownish? Anyone do the horseback on the beach? Any good fishing nearby? Restaurants?
Thanks in advance

Lots of sand dollars and shells in the shallow bay there if you wade. Watch those bull sharks though.

The water is not the same as further West...more brown. Still a very beautiful place...good fishing. Smaller community. No recs on rentals, but do recommend the area

Water is clearer the further north/closer you get to the state park on the cape. Very few restaurants on the Cape, never done the horseback riding. Cape is more about relaxing and you end up cooking most of your meals at home. We have gone for years but ATL has found out about it the past couple years and rental rates literally went up over 40% this year and we have been priced out. Used to be a hidden reasonably price vacation spot but not anymore

The appalachicola river empties into the appalachicola bay just to the east, so as said the water is clearer the more west you go. It’s not like PAnama city to Pensacola beach water though, it’s more like gulf shores water.
As said prices have gone up a lot, some of that is due to real estate prices sky rocketing there also, and there’s not much to do outside of sitting on the beach and fishing. No shopping outside of some boutique shops, no activities, etc.
