In light of the funniest movie scenes thread?
For guys? For gals?

Guy. I found these particularly sad.

#1 ending of Brain's Song (the original, not the piece of sh** remake)

The rest.

From Mask: when Cher finds him dead in bed. When the mute biker dude puts the baseball card on his head stone.

From Dead Man Walking: AFter visiting with his family for the final time and after his mom leaves, Sean Penn yells "is my mama okay?". One of the few times the bastard showed emotion.

Mary Corleone dies in Godfather 3.

Well, it would have been perfect if a decent actress was portraying Mary.

very fricking tear jerking.

Also:
Scene from "My Dog Skip" at the end when Skip is old and arthritic and trying to jump up on the bed(that always gets me)

Friday Night Lights: when Boobie has the breakdown after realizing he'll probably never play again.

The Program: when Alvin Mack has the breakdown and realizes he'll probably never play again.

Field of Dreams: when Kevin Costner plays catch with his dad.

End of "The Natural"

I wouldn't call that scene sad...Maybe heartwarming or something.

ACtually, the very ending (when they are running and the frame freezes, following by the narrator saying "Brian Piccilo died at the age of 26.....") gets me even more than that scene, which is pretty tear jerking itself.

Edit: Just watched the damn ending you posted. Thanks In retrospect, it is the whole shabang followed by the scene of them running and narration. The hospital scene builds it up, then the very ending just opens the gates. Bastard!

Never saw it, now I won't for sure, given that we put our 17 y.o. lab down last year b/c of similar problems. Just you writing that ranks it up there for me.

When Adam Sandler says goodbye to his dad and when he dies in Click. No one ever admits to crying at a Sandler flick but it always tears people up

Aaah, yes. But only the first time for me. Once you know the end, it sort of takes the emotion out of that scene second time around. Pic ain't coming back.

Titanic- When the elderly couple are holding each other on the bed as the water rises in their cabin

Saving Private Ryan- When Ryan's mother is looking out the front door as a car drives up. An officer and a priest get out and she drops to her knees on the porch in tears. Sad to imagine that happens.
