agreed = ours gets that when she has a nail issue. also if he/she was running outside, they could have stepped on a rock. it happens to ours, and she will limp pretty good for a day or so and it gets better.

is the foot swollen any? ours stepped on a bee once, and it made her limp for a week or so - but her foot swelled pretty noticably after the sting

That happened to mine once. He stepped on a bee, but you would have thought someone shot him.

I think he just had sensitive feet. Hell, he survived a brush with a coyote with less trouble than he did the ingrown nail and the bee. Granted, he was a bit more skittish in the early mornings when he was out after that. Almost becoming coyote dinner will do that to a baw, I guess.
