That's the foundation of the conflict: "white society view: 'look at the white person, they must not be able to get another white person'". While that view is still held in a lot of instances, it's more and more often a holdout from pre-90's/00's generational mindsets. Along with that though, there's also the little used: "black society view: 'look at the black person, they must think they are too good for another black person'". This view has always been every bit as prevalent in its respective community, just not often brought up in movies/tv.

Comedy is a great tool for pointing out the absurdities in society. Taking the black/white relationship issue to the more honest view of "it happens from both sides" and then doubling down on that with a radical view of Islam vs. Jews descended from Holocaust survivors as a balancing tool to point out the absurdity in trying to claim the higher victim status has potential, especially considering those family leads are played by Julia and Eddie (roles they shine in).
