Do your friends still live in Afghanistan and Pakistan? In my experience, the people who see their ways as outdated and weird left, leaving behind folks that are not going to change

Most moved here with their families when they were kids. They all go back yearly to visit family in these BFE villages. You have a point about the brain drain...
