Anyone have any experience with either? We have the option of the two at work, all costs are the same except for hospital benefits in the event of "non-emergency use of an emergency room". I have been told this is if you aren't admitted in which Aetna pays 50% and Blue Cross pays 80%(both after deductible). I live in Monroe, just in case that helps.

Thanks

Mrs. TigerDeacon and I have BlueCross of Tennessee (through Glenwood) and are always surprised about how little we have to pay.

All BCBS plans are different, as each are independent and locally-operated. As such, the Tennessee plan should not be compared to the Louisiana plan. I have BCBS of LA and have been very pleased with cost and access to affordable healthcare services. Go with the local entity, BCBS of LA.

I live in Monroe.. my Grandma had issues with Aetna before she died. My mom's small business uses BCBS as well as my Dad's insurance here in Roe City. They have always been good IMO and I know they have a good local identity. Go for BCBS.. now HMO-wise, have any experiance VHP? I see their building downtown all the time but I dunno anyone who actually use them.
