Probably local and national tv ratings with MLS as “soccer”

Total revenue

NFL= 14 billion
MLB= 10 billion
NBA= 8 billion
NHL= 4 billion
MLS= 1 billion


Major league soccer has 25% of the revenue of the NHL. MLS does have a firm hold of number 5 for professional sports.
