That was one of the most shocking outcomes in the history of college basketball. That was 1987 and LSU was playing really poor basketball up to that point. They called the team "The Uglies." Kentucky was a pretty good team with Eddie Sutton coaching.
As impressive as this win was, it had absolutely no carryover effect. LSU came back home for their next game and were blown out by Florida 75-50. Paulo Simoes was the offensive "star" for the Tigers.
