At one time I would bail out the side of my pickup truck bed like a paratrooper to the ground. In no way do I do that now. I am now doing the toe tap thing looking for the bumper and then same toe tap looking for the ground always maintaining three touch-points to the truck! Can’t imagine the injuries I would sustain now if I tried my younger self method of just jumping from the side of the truck. Getting old is a system of asking yourself …should I do this? Most times the answer is no but my brain still has to be convinced that what I am attempting is probably not wise.

The F-150 tailgate step I always called an old man step and made fun of, I use it now.
ETA: I jumped out of my bass boat (on the trailer) the other day and thought I blew out both of my knee caps.
