He's wrong. You ask first before bringing a dog.
My sister did this to me for Thanksgiving. Brought a huge labradoodle then left him in a cage in my living room.
I felt bad for him and let him run loose with my dogs and she got mad saying he was cage trained.
I get is a way to upbringing dogs but it seems cruel to keep a dog in a crate he can't move around in.
People with little dogs though will often bring their dogs. You have to be careful if you now someone has a chihuahua or a pomeranian.
