If it’s a good thing for kids to get to the league into their first contract as young as possible, how is it also bad for teams to get players that are older, more mature and experienced in the first contract?

Because if they miss on the pick or there’s fluctuation in the front office or staff, which is often the case with higher picks, the players trade value diminishes if they’re older. I’m more in line with you, I’d prefer a more experienced player especially at QB. Bill Parcells for example didn’t draft QBs who hadn’t graduated but todays franchises are more assembly line meat markets than organic and developed “teams.”
