That's what I keep getting told. NOLA area does the tunneling. The BR people I have called go through the slab. To be honest, I'd rather them tunnel it to not mess up my interior but I may be able to make an insurance claim if they go through the slab and save myself 10-15k out of pocket. Not sure what the best option would be for me though. Thanks for your reply

A good rule of thumb for insurance is it covers damage that happens in a point of time, not over a period of time. It also doesn’t cover movement of the earth or shrinking expansions etc of the earth or slab.

Typically if there is sudden and accidental water damage from a drain line under the home, the policy will cover to repair the sudden and accidental damage and the drain line under the slab. So things like water damaging carpet or laminate flooring is a good source to possibly open insurance coverage. Things like rot is a denial. Sudden and accidental is typically defined in the policy as happening more than 2 weeks
