About a 6
I'm always excited to see LSU play. Particularly when I know it is going to be the last time we get the chance to do so for almost 9 months. I'm also a bit more excited with the matchup than with past "second tier" bowls. Mostly because (1) LSU has never played Purdue, (2) barring the loss of their HC Purdue will be excited to be in the game; and (3) Purdue is not a boring Big 10 team in terms of style of play such as Iowa, Michigan St., Illinois, Wisconsin, etc.
Still, it is always hard for me to get excited for non-Playoff bowl game compared to regular season SEC games because the stakes are significantly less in the bowl game. Of course it would be nice to win the game. But a loss doesn't "ruin" LSU's season or chances to win any sort of championship this year.
