But getting rid of this coaching staff and starting a rebuild is better long term. This roster isn't winning a Super Bowl unless we stumbled across a legitimate QB1 in the offseason, which doesn't look likely.
Awful loss, one of the worst in recent memory -- but if it leads to us demoting Allen back to DC and going after a legit Head Coach -- then I'm ok with it for the long term of the team.
We had our chances with this core group to get a ring, and it didn't happen. Time to shake things up.

Problem is this staff is the team's best shot at getting a top 5 pick in 2024 draft, which greatly improves your odds of landing a better QB. A better HC probably has this team sitting at 8-5 this year with a legitimate shot at going 11-6 and still needing a QB.
There is some legitimate talent on this roster, but there are a lot of holes, and depth issues. Add that to no 1st round pick, and salary cap woes, will the team be able to land a top HC or will they wait for a better opportunity next year (always have 4-5 openings a year)

If the roster was every healthy we would be very good but for a QB1. The issue is that the roster is full of injury prone players who will never be fully healthy.

Good point — I suppose we’d need a top 3 to be in the mix for Caleb Williams in 2024. Suffering though Allen for one more year seems worth it, with that train of thought.

He will be a huge bust so I hope not.

Why does anyone want this team in the playoffs besides some moral victory for players like cam? To get embarrassed and trounced?

Why do you think he'll be a bust?

Im gona laugh when DA keeps his job under the excuse of a rebuilding year.
Despite the fact that they told us from the jump it is not a rebuilding year.

I’m not sure I’d want anybody desperate to actually take the job.

That’s fine, but I can’t stand to see Brady get wins over us.

If we get 2 first 23 & 24 for Payton, trade the 23 away to a different team to have 3 total firsts in 24…. Get some contracts off the cap and reset this roster and coach staff..
