It will not. A true playoff is what literally every other sport does successfully, and often is the best part of the season.
You're making his point.

Imagine a playoff-bound LSU overlooks and loses against A&M in the final week like this year. Now suddenly we’re #9 or 10 and have to travel to Penn State or Michigan in December instead of hosting a game. See why it remains important to win every game?

In your scenario, a loss is an aww shucks moment, at least we still make the playoffs.

In the century that set college football apart from all other sports, that loss and there is no chance for a championship....nor should there be.

That's the difference.

Playoff proponents are incapable of comprehending what made college football the greatest game on earth.

The playoffs should be the best part of the season, it’s reserved for the best teams that have earned it on the field through their entire body of work.

You mean the century when we just arbitrarily decided who was champion based off of “the eye test” and a popularity contest? So 90% of teams never even had a shot even if they did go unbeaten.

What makes college football so great is the atmosphere, particularly in big time on campus games. Tailgating, bitter rivalries, unique time-honored traditions among schools, fall Saturdays with action all day long. There’s nothing else like it in sports.

A playoff changes none of that. None. The Alabama game in 2022 was no less a huge deal with national implications this year as it was in 2011 or 2012 before the CFP.

The 4 team playoff already destroyed your thinking. See Ohio St. getting blown out in their one game against a top 10 opponent, yet still making the playoffs. The Ohio St./Michigan game a couple weeks ago was meaningless. Same goes for the Big 12 championship game.
