Unfortunately, you are correct. Plus, proximity to family is very important to him because he wants them to be able to watch him play in-person.
Michigan native, so may be hard to get him down south - hope I’m wrong….

I agree with it being hard to get him. But with our staff namely Brian Kelly, and a number of guys from different parts of the country namely the Midwest/Northeast. They may be able to sell him on greatly improving his stock by being able showcase he can play and succeed against a different caliber of athlete and area. While ND, Penn State, and Wisconsin are for sure step ups from WMU. They are still in the same geographic footprint with similar styles of play.
The teams from the "south" LSU is competing against for Fiske outside of ND/Penn State, we are a much better option for him. (UF, Ole Miss, State, and FSU).

of course an easy drive is preferable for family to watch games, but I also have to think that NIL has minimized this concern. flights/hotel rooms/food and drink is easily paid for by NIL income.
dwright, we agree. I just question if this is as much of a concern as in the past. especially when you have the opportunity to play for a top program (yes, LSU is still a "top program").
or, maybe i am trying to convince myself that this is a real possibility.....
