2018 CISA allowed Nielsen to create a special division in DHS to police disinformation. That is what I read.
This special division communicated with Big Tech quarterly, then monthly, then weekly as the 2020 election approached.
You can guarantee DHS division was communicating with the FBI.
The unintended consequences of big government.
Rand Paul would not sign 2018 CISA in a million years. Trump did.
If I read the story wrong, I apologize.

I can appreciate that, I believe it shows good faith from your side of the discussion. And I would say the same applies to me. I must admit actually, I didn’t read every bit of it, I just didn’t have it in me. But I browsed enough throughout the piece to form an opinion on it.
What we can’t avoid here is having to speculate to some extent as to Trump’s intentions and positions on these matters. My speculation narrows down to a conclusion that on this entire subject, his intentions were to strongly address the potential for foreign actors to hack things like the power grid, as one example, given the frightening prospect of seriously shutting down our ability to function as a civilized society, if there were attacks against something as indispensable and fundamental as “power”. I guess throw in banking systems, air traffic control, etc etc as other vital systems. I believe that’s what he intended to address, which is commendable. Those possibilities are pretty frightening indeed.
But as for going beyond that primary objective, I would speculate that he contributed in no overt way to any specific “disinformation screening” efforts, irrespective of his position as grand pooba.
