the neighborhood I lived in until I was about 10 had a huge drainage ditch behind the houses across the street, it was a big playground, when it wasn't raining you could walk all beneath the city though the passage ways, when it was raining it was white water rafting, my mom usually wouldn't ask where we were going when we went out to play, everything was safe back then, but if she did I'd just say we're all going to the ditch, she'd say have fun be back in time for dinner
