I simply cautioned the possible ramifications of doing it and what we Christians collectively need to be mindful of being an unintended consequence of the whole Christmas thing.
If the unintended consequence of celebrating the birth of Christ on an arbitrary date is that lost people continue to be lost without regard for Christ, I'm ok with that. I don't think that's a reasonable take. At that point, they are choosing to reject the truth regardless of the reason.

That’s being a bit simplistic and there are pitfalls in having that mindset.
That is the definition of the gospel.
quote:
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

My Christian brother we are splitting hairs some but yes you will always have lost folks but why set some of them up to be deceived when they don’t have to be and perpetuated in their state of being lost when they could be “saved”?
December 25th was not an arbitrary date either. It was picked in concert with the pagan winter solstice celebrations to make converting the pagans easier when the “church” and state were brought together in Rome under Constantine. These things I am laying out doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to detect…and these facts can be used effectively by cults to poke holes in doctrines of Christian Churches enough to allow doubt to creep in and set a bad stage for these cults to exploit a small set of truths then drive way off the rails with the rest of their flawed doctrines.
