I would say instead of 20 go to 100.

I have a 150 tract that is about 40 acres of pasture. It has a house on it but we are going to build another.

Some things I would advise from my experiences:

timber sucks—-hurricanes are tough on it and old timber sucks more than 20 year old stuff as there are very few markets for it

don’t skimp on your first tractor and have at least two—I have a 115hp JD cab tractor for most work and a 55 horse open cab old Mahindra I use for spraying and tight bush hog work

don’t skimp on chain saws—forget the bar length and concentrate on the motor size —70cc plus—you will be very happy you spent the extra money

the hunting public includes a few people that will think your property should be open to them for hunting—they will contrive BS reasons why they are trespassing simply to shoot a deer. I could shoot 20 a year but i doubt i will shoot any this year—there is not a lot of sport in it for me

hogs are hard to get rid of

you need someone to help that you can depend on

i love my place but just wanted to point out some thing
