How far do you hit a pitching wedge?
The lofts on some pitching wedges are 43 degrees and few are even lower. Cobra’s latest iron set has Pitching wedge at 41.5.

So if you 52 is paired with a 43 degree pitching wedge you probably need a 48.

Also, check shafts, lie angles and bounce. These may be working against you relative to your standard iron setup/swing.

Modern clubs have really delofted irons/wedges with each iteration. The gaps are getting wider year by year.

A 5 wood 5 years ago is now relabeled as a 7 wood.

A 8 iron from 20 years ago is closer to a pitching wedge now.
