Take lessons and get ready to be tired out of your mind. Your legs will be on fire, and you'll spend most of your energy trying to put your skis back on on an incline after you wipe out. First time I went a few years ago, I did lessons for a day and by day 3 I had it figured out well enough to handle blue trails.
