People talk about Cecil for what he was. Fantastic over 4 games.
He was incredible. No one counts him among the all-time greats.

Check the defensive ratings of the 4 teams Collins played against.
UTEP 44 total defense
MISS St. 35 total defense
Auburn 38 total defense
Akron 112 total defense
Check his offensive linemen and how good they were
Alan Faneca All american first team, A six-time first-team All-Pro and nine-time Pro Bowl selection
Todd McClure All SEC center 13 year pro career, During his second season he took over as the Falcons starting center after Calvin Collins was moved to guard. Since then he missed only one game and was the Falcons starting center from 2000 until his retirement after the 2012 season.
Fantastic, incredible are words for people like Faneca and McClure that proved over a long period of time greatness.
