Nah. I doubt that. He’s forcing things. He’s in a slump and he’s also got the hurt finger. HOWEVER, having the ball in his hands so much isn’t going to work when he’s in the starting unit.

Part of our problem when the ball is primarily in his hands with our starting unit is that him and BI are kind of our only 3 point threats so it’s easy to account for our offense as long as teams build a wall for Zion and just run CJ off the line. Our offense, at least 60-70% of the time would be more effective if BI or Zion or even Jose were the main initiators. CJ can still ball handle and slash and make good plays and passes but his value is knocking down 3s especially with Zion in the game. He should be throwing up 7-10 a game.

And on the flip side of that, BI and Zion should average 20 shots a game, no less. Instead, CJ is firing up 7-10 3s with an additional 7-10 poor, low percentage mid ranges and piss poor drives to the basket when we don’t have enough shooters on the floor to make teams respect him driving to the hole.

What if I told you CJ is shooting better from the midrange than BI is so far this season?

CJ is at 48.2% while BI is at 44%

CJ’s shooting stats are skewed because of his low 3 pt percentage, which his career numbers indicate will come up alot
