I got sober working the steps and could argue I still work steps 10,11, and 12 daily, but no longer attend meetings.
I didn’t get sober to spend multiple hours per week talking about alcohol and drugs. I got sober to live my life. I feel like going to meetings regularly allows alcohol to continue to control my life, just in a different way than when I was drinking.
