And this is the reason storming the field is common today. And you forgot to mention pepper spray. Back then you knew if you messed with/disrespected the law in front of a cop, you will get a beatdown. Now with social media and cameras everywhere, they can't do that anymore and have to follow protocol instead of being decisive and judgemental. The public knows the protection they have and says F it I have nothing to lose, and storm the field.
They need to have more cops with an intimidating presence.

SJW ruined any chance of you getting that back.
They don't even try to stop storming the field anymore.
The problem is that if the crowd wants to come on the field, there is nowhere near enough security to prevent it. If you start trying to identify and charge those for participating in a court storming you may scare a few into not participating, but you also kick your fanbase while they're excited.
